Happy 4th of July

July 4, 2015

Living in America for a year, its hard not celebrate a national holiday, especially the 4th of July. Last November, I got to experience my very first Thanksgiving and I have to say, I can see why so many people love it. Being that this is my third 4th of July holiday I thought I would show you ladies how I love to celebrate this fun holiday in the city. 4th of July is starting to be celebrated in Europe and even in Ireland so I hope this outfit gives you ladies back home a little inspiration for the weekend ahead. For a start, this beautiful sequenced skirt, is in fact a dress I purchased in Topshop a few seasons back. I felt the chest was to revealing for a daytime outfit, so I found this perfect top in GAP, to not only dress it down but also stay in theme. I was honestly freaking out earlier in the week because I thought I had nothing to wear, like we all do from time to time. Its always fun to rummage through your wardrobe and try to dress it up or down or change it into a completely new look. Dresses are the easiest and funnest way to experiment in my opinion. However be aware ladies, if the chest part is too bulky or heavily beaded, placing a top over it will make you look boxy, so always try it on and get a feel for the look before you showcase it on a night out. My shoes are from a previous post The Balancing Act’ which were perfect I feel for this themed look. I purchased these lovely pins in Express, which is an American high street store in the city and perfect for day-to-day basics. These shoes however are being sold pretty much everywhere, although you might not find this specific red colour, make sure to visit a Steve Madden store or online shop to pick up their new collection for the summer. Every colour you need Steve has it and of course if you want to rock a 4th of July look, there is a small collection of electric blue sandals, that will make you stand out for all the right reasons. If you are in the city tonight and unsure of what to do, if you can get the opportunity particularly on the 4th, rooftop bars are a must to catch all the excitement this fabulous city has to offer. Here are some suggestions for tonight but move fast, tickets will sell out before you know it (http://joonbug.com/newyork/fourthofjuly/4th-of-July-Rooftop-Party-Pass-15601/GDioVbNmudR). If that’s the case, make your way towards the lower east of the city or Brooklyn side to see the most amazing firework display. You will not be disappointed, I did it last year with my friend Ross and we were blown away. I don’t want to ruin some of the surprises but if in doubt where to be tonight, downtown would be my first stop. Happy holidays and have an amazing 4th of July.

Stay Lawless,

Niamh
