February 18, 2015

It’s amazing to think that Son Jung wan designs have evolved from a small store to being showcased at New York Fashion Week. Born and raised in South Korea Son cleverly opened a store directly across Galleria Department Store, which stocks luxuary brands.  It wasn’t long for Galleria Department Store to notice Son Jung Wan diverse clothing and the attention it drew. With each collection, Son captures a different persona and showcases how diverse women really are. There’s a story behind every collection just like there’s a story behind every women its never the same and you will never see recurring details. From romanticized dresses using fabrics that are brightly colored and embellished representing a pretty and feminine character. To bold daring cuts that are sexy and daring Son really takes risks with making her work dynamic pieces. Son has become one of Koreas most successful designers she is however a women of many talents an artists, philanthropist, mother and wife. For this years collection Son did not hold back making it her strongest show to date. Using a variety of powerful colors from purples to embellished aqua Son’s designs were breathtaking. Fur was a big trend this fashion week however other designers were basic with their color scheme Son used a selection of lavish orange and blue furs incorporated with shimmering gold fabric and knits. It was a big risk to take, as it could of easily boarded on gaudy. Proving that Son is an elite designer who is fearless with her designs.
