Herve Leger NYFW 2016

February 15, 2016

My very first introduction to fashion week was back in 2013. To this day, I still have the same emotions of pure excitement getting behind the scenes along side fashion weeks elite designers and their teams. No better introduction to fashion week than having my very first show with Herve Leger, an iconic name that has been running for more than three decades. Max and Lubov have created a brand that is adored by so many, from Kim Kardashian to Nicki Minaj. Not only are they extremely successful designers and co founders of Herve Leger but they have also created BCBG. Both brands are tailored to curious and daring ladies, who embrace fashion statements on a daily basis. To call them a “power couple” is a real under statement. Always a media frenzy and this year was no different however there were a few new faces in the mix.

Last year Taylor Hill along with a few others have walked the Heger Leger show. Taylor has become overnight a super model and most recently walked in this years Victoria Secret’s show. Herve Leger has always been ahead of the game, not only with their collection but also in their selection of models. Most if not all have become household names, which just demonstrates how powerful the Herve Leger brand is. This years winter and fall collections embraced an edgy vibe which is not unusual for Herve Leger. Painted leather laced boots create a punk rock feel with the addition of their infamous body con dress, it was a show not to miss. Even a check skirt was added into the mix to add flair of 90’s punk rock. I personally loved their diverse selection of materials and colors they had this year. From laced chains, to studded fringe although their was a more masculine approach Max and Lubov did also incorporated delicate pieces from dark floral dresses to light greys and creams. For me this show topped all my expectations and just shown that Herve Leger is once again leading the way. I hope you all enjoy my quick snaps of behind the scene madness. Thank you Annis Kamera for the beautiful runway shoots visit her instagram to see more @a.kamera.

Herve Leger Sept 2015

September 15, 2015

I think if the word Herve Leger has to be explained to you I just have to wonder where have you been for the past thirty years, as it is so iconic.  My first introduction to fashion week was a Herve Leger show back in 2013. As an Irish girl who up to that point had never stepped foot into the tents at Fashion week, it was quiet overwhelming and for a moment it felt like a scene from the Devil wears Prada was being shot. If you don’t like to get your picture taken, my advice is don’t go to this show, as everybody from Nicki Minaj, Victoria Justice will be just some of many young celebrities that will be in your company, trying to get a glimpse of the new seasons collection. Last February, I saw slight changes to their famous dresses, which usually have a small selection of colors but in numerous styles. I was impressed with last seasons collection, it was the first really memorable show for me. When I envisage Herve Leger, I think of their famous body-con dresses created for the curvious and daring ladies with a selection of colours in the mix. With their previous season they incorporated embellishments and beading and for me it was refreshing to see a new approach to the famous dress and this made me very excited and expectant for the September shows. Like no other, we walked into a media frenzy, with hair and make-up people in the mix, its really intense and crazy but I love every minute of it.

For hair and make up this season, the style was very clean and embraced a more natural beauty. The hair was my favorite and a style I would like to master, which was a long ponytail and a fringed plat, I just loved it. And of course every girl rocked it. This show was a very special one that both myself and all of the team were extremely nervous about. Herve Leger were celebrating their 30thanniversary, which meant showcasing this years collection but also celebrating this special occasion which made it that extra bit special. Max and Lubov held their big reveal as top secret,  the closing show dresses were not revealed until the very last minute whilst the girls were running off the runway. I don’t kid you, I mean top secret both myself and my fashion guru Jean Luc having been lining up models for the past two years. My job is “line of show” getting the models prepared and in line, ready for the catwalk and his is the finale which is extremely difficult but he rocks it every time. This show was a lot different, time is never with us but with this show we created a white line were models would have their name to run to and change in line. This is hard to achieve, as each model had just a max of one minute to change into these tightly fitted dresses but we did it and kept it a secret for as long as we could. Dressers, casting and our production team, we all were nervous wrecks to say the least but after seeing Max and Lubov’s expressions looking at the show, it really was rewarding and a special moment for us all to be part of. I really don’t have a favourite and that’s usually not the case. There was no way of picking out one from the other, this show was really one to remember with fond memories which I will always hold close with a smile. I am sure you ladies will pick your own favourite but for me the task is to hard to decide. Max and Lubov once again, you made a collection that is breathtaking but you have created a brand that will be forever iconic for fashion worldwide. Congratulations to you both and here’s to 30 more years of Herve Leger.

Herve Leger

February 18, 2015

Herve Leger – There is only two words to describe their shows and that is pure hectic, but for many good reasons. Similar in ways to BCBG, Herve Leger is not a brand that will create practical and comfortable it is created for seductive women that crave’s attention. Alluring and sexy, Herve Leger has grown into a fashion empire dressing only the elite and beautiful there really is nowhere to hide in these dresses. I would not suggest it to everyone, although they are beautiful it takes a certain physique and confidence to rock these dresses. This was my third season working behind the show for fashion week. It’s the only one I truly get nervous about. The brand draws so much attention from press and photographers, it really can be overwhelming when trying to line up over 20 girls some even with two looks. The dresses are beyond tailored and figure hugging so this can add pressure for both us and the models especially when there is a tight line up, there is no room for mistakes! Max and Lubov are always backstage and making sure the girls are looked after which is very important, as most designers don’t. Pure perfectionists it really shows, not only having one successful clothing line but two Max and Lubov really are a true power couple.

For this February, I saw slight changes to their infamous dresses, which usually have a small selection of colors in numerous styles. However this year Max and Lubov incorporated lavish embellishments and beading. One of my favorite looks for the show was a beautiful black dress incrusted with vibrant yellow, green and blue beading. They carried similar detailing to several designs one in particular was a blue jacket and skirt that threw the attention of not only myself but also every photographer in the room. I adore this one in particular instead of embellishing the jacket on a matted color like the previous dress this particular outfit already had and amazing contrasts of colors from the fabric alone. I have no doubt that this season Max and Lubov have added to their fan base. Hope you ladies enjoy my back stage pictures.
