Online Shopping

July 15, 2017

Today I wanted to talk about online shopping. The last time I discussed this topic it was in relation to scams and how to purchase and exchange information online safely. This post is a lot less serious but I do advise you read my later post for future reference “4 Tips to Avoid Online Fraud.” I have picked a selection of shops and designers that I frequently visit whether it’s a shoe fetish you have or just love to find something unique I feel these sites are ones for you. ( Above picture: Photography by Gabriel M Brandt. Styling by me, Models Janet Ribando & Caitlin Grace.)

It is the one thing that I really should stop buying but can’t. Dresses especially wrapped ones are so faltering and comfortable they are hard to resist. if I could shop on this every day I would, however, it is expensive. They are also great for jumpsuits and blouses. My second would have to be which is a brand in Australia once again it is expensive however if you are going to a wedding or have a special occasion I do advise to shop here. Not just because their collection is simply stunning but surprisingly not many ladies know about it in Ireland. Third would have to be, yes another Aussie brand but they know their stuff. There are some pieces I would not be keen on however I love their ECHO collection. Check out their Wallflower dress if you don’t believe me.

I have enough boots to know you can never have too many. Yes, heels from River Island, Topshop and all the high street favorites are nice but boots are everything. Dramatic but true and here’s why. 1. Your feet will never get wet which is the main factor when living in Ireland. 2. You can wear them during the day as well as night time “More for your buck” 3. You will not be left in pain from your friend’s heel piercing your toes & 4. There just simply comfy. So where to shop the best is one, is also great. For something a like more quirky the infamous Jeffery Campbell.

Mary Frances bags are my absolute favorite Another brand called Uterque is amazing for clothing as well as accessories, belts are always a winner with this site Sunglasses always complete a look no matter what the season. I love Anthropologie they have something to suit everyone and are great for scarfs. If you wanted something more urban then I would check out

Fitness fashion has taken on a new meaning. To stay on top with this new fashion statement there is only one site to visit and that is

Last but most certainly not least is my personal favorite coats. I usually shop vintage for coats however there is only one collection that will make me change this habit and that is ‘I am Studio.’ I brand which is based in Moscow, Russia. Their coats look like they have stepped off of the runway without the price tag. Knitwear and dresses are also something to consider when shopping on this site.

Galway Races

August 8, 2016

Last weekend I decided following the gentle persuasion of my good friend Ellie to pick out an outfit in the space of five hours for the Galway Races Ladies Day and hop on a bus the same day to Galway. MANIC !!!. To say the day was a rush in more ways than one is a real understatement. I have so many beautiful dresses but as this is a huge social and fashion event in the Irish Calendar it gave me the perfect excuse to add something new to my wardrobe. When these opportunities occur which they regularly do, its important to have your “go to” boutique. For me it is After Sybil which you may recall from a previous post of mine. I just love this boutique. It has a deserved reputation and justifiably so for stocking some of the most beautiful dresses from exclusive designers to vintage favourites. Lucky for me it is only a ten minute drive from my house.

The dress I wore is a beautiful dusty baby blue dress from designer Ludmila Corlateanu. There are many pieces from her collection to be found however I had my eye on this one for a while and finally had the excuse to buy it. I honestly have never felt so elegant in a dress, the tailoring and overall sihiloutte was perfect for my body shape. I have always wanted to have an Audrey Hepburn moment and embrace her classic style, this dress I feel ticked every box of Hollywood Glamour. Personally I have always been afraid to wear high neck tops, simply because I have become very busty in recent years but trust me ladies, this dress is stitched to perfection. For me I did not wear a bra and the dress didn’t need it. You know you have found an incredible designer when you can wear a dress without a bra and feel so secure in it.

As many of you know, Ladies day is not only about wearing the perfect dress but it is also about finding the most daring hat to compliment it and hopefully stand out. Walking into the races was something I have never experienced before and it was so exciting. So many women experiment with their style of hat and were not afraid to be noticed. I loved every minute of it. Vibrant, beautiful, stylish and really buzzing, whats not to love ? Millinery is huge here in Ireland at the moment and I adore how women embrace this fashion accessory for just about every social occasion. For me it really makes an outfit, so it was really important that I selected the right hat to complete my outfit. My favourite millinery designer has to be Carol Kennelly, her collection of hats are so diverse, fun, delicate, intricate, timeless but brilliantly different. No matter what your personalty is, Carol has adopted all these elements into her design making her in my mind the best of the best. I had seen Carol’s collection while attending her show in New York Fashion Week. I have always wanted to own a Carol Kennelly piece and I am so proud to now say I now do. The hat I wore is called Gigi which is a silver box hat encrusted with jewels. A perfect statement piece that pulled my entire look together. It is not something you should really admit but I have honestly never felt more beautiful. If I could wear a Carol Kennelly hat every day I would.

My friend Ellie bought her dress also from After Sybil and created a completely different look. We may have both worn blue but it just goes to show how different each women’s personal style is. I loved her look, she is never afraid to experiment with her fashion. A true Lawless lady in my books, in more ways than one lol. To get both of are looks visit After Sybil in Blackrock Dundalk.

My Annies

June 22, 2016

So far this summer, Ireland has been amazing for its weather. Lucky for me, I had the excuse of playing the tour guide for my New York friends who recently visited. I think most of you will agree with me when I say, I honestly never want to be anywhere else when Ireland is so warm. I might be bias, but in my opinion there really is no were like it. These pictures were taken at the edge of the Cliffs of Moher a place I advise everyone to visit at least once.

Typically, you would think wearing a black dress in the middle of a heat wave would be the last thing on your mind. However, this Topshop beauty is super light and has a sexy lace slit for comfort. I normally go for wrap dresses as they complement my shape more. Usually, these dresses are not great on busty girls as they create an unflattering shape, but for some reason it works and I’m not complaining. Unfortunately, this was a summer favorite for Topshop and sold out two days after I purchased it. But thankfully you can still purchase it in a top version that also comes in white (ON SALE). So happy days.

With weather this hot it’s important to invest in a good pair of sunglasses. A new addition to my collection, these 60’s vibe glasses called “Vivienne” from My Annies are both elegant and timeless. I have a lot of glasses, some designer and others high street. I purchased a pair of Prada glasses six years ago when in Austria and thought I would never find anything that could compare with their quality and style, however I was VERY WRONG. My Annies are not only great quality, but you can get your hands on a pair for an amazing price that won’t break the bank. I already have my eye on several others from the My Annies collection and I advise everyone to visit Instagram (@myannies) to get a taste. I believe sunglasses are a year round accessory and that can complete any look. What’s more, My Annies retail at €20 which offers a lot less guilt.

Mix Match

May 19, 2016

So May is upon us, I cannot believe how fast this year is going. I have been home already a month and I won’t lie I wish it would slow down just a little. I’ve really missed home. This is my first summer in three years that I’ve been in Ireland and I intend on making it a fun one. As most of you know yellow is everywhere and it is the key color this summer. Many high street brands from River Island to Topshop are creating their own signature with this latest summer crazy -It’s hard to escape. For now my favorite high street summer collection has got to be Zara. It’s only in recent years that I have started to experiment with color and I know it’s not for everyone but I think I have found the perfect introduction for summer. Whether you wear vibrant clothing or just like to stick to an all black uniform Zara has what you are looking for. Zara have created two colorful leather jackets that will match perfectly with whatever color you chose.

For me I decided to pair my new leather jacket with an old treasure, my Karl Lagerfeld skirt. I love the contrast of orange and yellow and I wanted to show how easy it is to match up these two citrus colors. It’s not simple but let’s face it, red and pink matched together has lasted way too long, it’s time for a plate change.

When you are going to match anything it’s important that they complement each other but make sure there is not too much going on. Summer to me is getting to wear whatever color you want with a mix match of fabrics and of course having fun when doing it. Because both colors are extremely colorful I found that a white top and shoes would blend the citrus colors and pull the look together.

I love my boots but sometimes flats are needed when your having a long day running about. What is perfect about fashion these days is that you really can change a look from casual to formal with just a switch of a shoe. For my accessories I used my favorite designer Mary Frances for contrast but also a small addition of other colors. This yellow jacket is also available in a baby blue if this trending color is not for you. Hope you ladies try about a similar look, I would love to see what you al come up with. The best part about the changing seasons I feel is the need to buy a new bag, that is my excuse and I am sticking to it ! Anyway it is the one thing in our daily lives we really use non stop and of course following a winter of rain and snow, its hard to imagine any bag looking fit for the summer season. Some ladies like to stick to a yearly bag either black, burgundy or perhaps a musky green. All are easy to match and carry through the year but for me, I love to add more colors into the mix. It is the only time of year you can explore different colors and textures without the worry of them being ruined. I am a lover of anything suede, so I decided to pick out a selection of my favorite bags which I think you ladies will love for this summer. Enjoy.
